Institute for Public Policy Research
The Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR), Alexandria, was established in 1992 by the Center for Public Administration and Policy (CPAP). Through research and technical assistance projects sponsored by local, state and federal governments, nonprofit organizations and other enterprises, IPPR is able to pursue its mission to provide research and consulting services on important issues of public policy and offer opportunities for graduate students to participate in significant research activities.
IPPR has conducted research and provided technical assistance to state and local agencies covering many program areas. Evaluation studies are a major focus of the Institute's work. IPPR staff has extensive experience in survey design and analysis of survey data as well as analysis of administrative data from social services data systems. The staff is also skilled in conducting site visits and working with state and local agency personnel to assess and improve service delivery.
Major clients of IPPR include the Virginia Department of Social Services, the Virginia Department of Health, and the Fairfax County Department of Family Services.
